Tulip Time Festival
The Tulip Time Festival is a celebration of Dutch Heritage and Tulips that takes place the first week of May in Holland, Michigan. The Festival is filled with parades, activities, and food that captures the essence of the Netherlands in the late 1800's. The festival is vital to the community of Holland creating over 12.9 million dollars of revenue to the local economy ever year. I am lucky enough to be a part of this celebration by serving as an event planning intern.

Event Intern - KinderplaatsI have had the special privilege of being hired on as an event planning intern to assist in planning 2016's Kinderplaats. Kinderplaats, is an event that pairs up with local non-profit organizations in order to put on a free children's carnival. I have been part of helping re-imagine Kinderplaats, by making it a place where kids and there families can learn and play together, while becoming immersed in Dutch culture, history and heritage through activities, games and crafts. Through meeting and planning alongside the NPO's we hope to make this year's Kinderplaats a success, not only for 2016 but for years to come.

Event Intern- Volunteer EventsNot only am I planning Kinderplaats I am also keeping busy by helping plan several of our volunteer parties. With an estimated number of over 500,000 people in attendance for each festival, Tulip Time Relies heavily on its volunteers. I am assisting in planning several events to show our volunteer appreciation. From dinners to fireworks, I don't think they'll be disappointed. I am excited to be planning events that show the gratefulness of the Tulip Time staff.
