Kruizenga Art Museum
Since the 1960's Hope College was being donated art by it's alumni, the college tried to display the works in academic buildings, but soon art was being stored in random basements. In order to remedy this problem the institution built a state of art facility to showcase the artwork it had acquired through out the years. The museum opened in September of 2015 showcasing the second largest collection of Asian art in Michigan and a large collection from Europe and the America's. This completely free museum is open to the public and serves as a personal teaching museum for Hope College.

Gallery AssistantI was hired on in October 2015 to assist the Visitor Services Coordinator. Together the coordinator greet guests as they enter the museum and answer any questions they may have about the art and the community. Working in the museum has allowed me once again to work on my people skills. It has also allowed me to learn more about the art world and gain a higher appreciation for art work.
